Neal King, LCSW, CHT, holds his master’s in social work. Born and raised in New York, he became a NY actor, where he co-founded a theater group and began to study and perform comedy improv. When Neal discovered the therapeutic power of Improv, he started his journey in doing his part to bring this powerful and transformative tool to other professionals. Neal’s guest workshop credits include The University of Pennsylvania, St. Joseph’s University, The College of New Jersey, The UCLA Arts and Healing Initiative, Princeton Hospital’s Mental Health and Addiction Program for First Responders, and the Y.A.L.E. school for children on the autism spectrum, as well as many local schools for children and teens.
Having honed his skills in using Therapeutic Improv to treat or alleviate anxiety disorder symptoms, Neal brings his workshops to national platforms to train mental health and education providers. This led to writing the book, Comedy Improv Group Therapy for Social Anxiety, A Guide to Start and Run this Unique Group. Over the past 15 years, Neal has transformed his workshops to focus on helping the whole family that are affected with various anxiety disorders.
